In previous posts, we established that:
- Every human being is born with a personal spirit, which is the ‘eternal’ part of you.
- Every human being is born with God’s Spirit living inside of them, because your body is the temple of God.
- After Jesus died on the cross for sin, every human being receives a conscience.
- The conscience is the Holy Spirit.
- Jesus is the Holy Spirit.
This phenomenon called your ‘conscience’ is the fulfillment of Old Testament prophecy concerning the ‘new’ covenant, which would be made with Israel, the possessors of the ‘old’ covenant.
The new covenant would be different from the old covenant in that the new covenant would be written upon the hearts (brains) of the Jewish people and it would include the Gentiles (non-Jews).
The conscience arrived exactly fifty days after Jesus died on the cross, and was the result of Jesus’ spirit being ‘glorified’ by God.
“In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believes on me, as the scripture has said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
(But this spoke he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)”
This passage is clear that Jesus had to be ‘glorified’ before the Holy Spirit could be given to human beings. The only person that could glorify Jesus is God the Father.
“And now, O Father, glorify me with Your own self with the glory which I had with You before the world was.”
Thus, when God glorified Jesus, He multiplied Jesus’ spirit, making it possible for Jesus’ spirit to be inside every human being, just like God.
“Hereafter shall the Son of man sit on the right hand of the power of God.”
“So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.”
Simple arithmetic can be very useful in studying the Bible.
If God lives inside every human being, and Jesus sat down on the right hand of God, then Jesus must be sitting inside every human being!
A + B = C
You don’t have to be an Einstein to understand the Bible. You simply have to connect the dots and allow the Holy Spirit (who is Jesus) to teach you all things.
Let’s connect some more dots.
We know that Jesus can do nothing unless it is written in the Old Testament.
We know that Jesus fulfilled the Feast of Passover through his death on the cross.
Where is the prophecy of his glorification? It is in the feast that follows Passover:
The Feast of Weeks
This Old Testament feast is referred to as ‘Pentecost’ in the New Testament, which means fiftieth day.
“And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.”
“And you shall count unto you from the morrow after the sabbath, from the day that you brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven sabbaths shall be complete: Even unto the morrow after the seventh sabbath shall you number fifty days; and you shall offer a new meat offering unto the LORD.”
Remember, Jesus knew the prophecies and told his followers that all the prophecies spoke about him.
Jesus knew exactly what God intended to do. This was the ‘joy’ that strengthened Jesus, allowing him to face a gruesome death by crucifixion and bear in his body (literally) the sin of the world.
Jesus understood that God’s plan involved giving human beings a conscience. He also understood that God’s ‘clock’ runs by prophecy, not man-made time, which is why Jesus instructed his followers to wait for this prophecy (Feast of Weeks) to be fulfilled.
“And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, he said, you have heard of me. For John truly baptized with water; but you shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days from now.”
“And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.”
